“Pretty Much My Favorite Cooking Device In The World. ”

Okay, Im not a foodie. . .far out of it. Nor do I get excited about cooking equipment . To me it was another thing, although I kind of appreciated getting a panini press sooner or later. So my beautiful girlfriend and I were driving to NY once, and that I happened to bring up the thought, in passing, of drying your fruits. It sort of hit me, because I eat a ton of veggies and fruits. . I hadn’t ever thought about the idea. . .hell, I never knew that dehydrators existed. While she drove immediately googled these alleged dehydrators… The rest is history. . I went out and got the one with the timer (I actually. . .really suggest dropping the extra cash for this version that is updated. You dont have to worry about over cooking anything or stirring up at like 5 am to turn the thing off)So far Ive dehydrated: Bananas, Eggplant slices, Yellow Squash pieces, Kabocha Squash, Butternut Squash, Apple slices, pear slices, pineapple pieces, mushrooms, blueberries, along with oranges.Everything. . .minus the oranges, came out fan-freaking-tastic. The oranges were gross. . .will not do this again… But seriously, my mother would toss away carrots which were too ripe for her. NOPE. Catch these suckers, and dehydrate em. They then last far far far longer.Seriously. . If you want to make snacks to go, and like fruit/veggie chips, grab some fruits, dehyrdrate em and youre set.

“Noisy But Well Worth The Money”

I recently broke the Nesco American Harvest dehydrator I have owned for many decades. When I was triggered by my dog, I dropped it. So I started shopping the model that I had isnt made anymore. I utilize my dehydrator quite often for a great deal of different things. I understand from experience what temp I want and how long to dehydrate things. The thing I loved most about my older Nesco dehydrator was timer and the electronic temp and that is. Theyare cash but they are much more accurate. The majority of the ones for sale nowadays dont even have a timer and thetemp control is just a inexpensive dial.My fresh Presto 06301 arrived on time and in excellent condition. I have used it a few times and I really like it. It worksperfectly but it’s a bit on the side. Together with the electronic temp control and timer thats not a problem for me becauseI get everything ready set timer and the temp to go in the evening and go to bed. When I wake up in the morning I understand that myjerky or whatever Im dehydrating will be done perfectly and I dont need to hear it within my sleep. For the cash this is a superb product and I highly suggest it to anybody who wants exact temp and an accurate digital timer.
